The iconic Nordic beauty company LUMENE Group has pinned one of industry’s top international researcher to their R&D team in Finland. The company continues to research the potency of raw materials of the Nordic nature in beauty products.
International skin research expert, Dr. Alain Mavon has been appointed as the Vice President of R&D and Sustainability at LUMENE Group. With his teams, Alain is responsible for new ingredients, formulations and testing, regulation, QA, packaging, and sustainability. Alain continues Tiina Isohanni‘s pioneering work in harnessing the raw materials of Nordic nature in cosmetics as well as the development of comprehensive circular economy principles within personal care.
Tiina Isohanni and Alain Mavon work together in a transition phase until the end of 2022. Tiina Isohanni will then shift to the LUMENE Group’s board after a more than 30-year career in the company.
Over the past decades, LUMENE’s R&D team, led by Tiina Isohanni, has developed patented formulas and award-winning, market-leading skin care products. Tiina has had a significant role in the utilization of industrial by-products in the cosmetics industry.

Alain Mavon is passionate about skin health, the aging process and cosmetics science. He has more than 25 years of experience in cosmetics research, about 60 scientific publications and has participated in the development of several patented innovations. Most recently, before joining LUMENE Group, Alain worked at Oriflame Cosmetics, Sweden.
