This certification is a testament to our commitment towards a more sustainable and equitable future. As the first beauty company in Finland to achieve B Corp certification, Lumene Group stands alongside only six other certified B Corporations in the country.
WHAT IS B CORP?
B Corp Certification is awarded to companies that have been verified to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance and have made a public commitment to stakeholder governance. This certification demonstrates our dedication to accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Two of the three Lumene Group brands, LUMENE and CUTRIN, are now B Corp certified. In the future, the Group aims to achieve a full certification, including the newly acquired brand, IDA WARG Beauty.
Becoming a B Corp represents a milestone in our sustainability journey. Lumene Group has been pioneering Circular Beauty for over 20 years, and the B Corp Certification underscores our unwavering commitment to driving positive change in the beauty industry.
Our sustainability journey does not end with B Corp Certification. It’s an important step along the way, and we will continue to build on our commitment to use our business as a force for good.
THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS
The B Corp certification process evaluates every aspect of a business’s operations, focusing on five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. To become a Certified B Corp, companies must achieve a minimum of 80 points and be verified by an independent, third-party analyst to demonstrate their responsible practices in areas like energy use, waste management, water consumption, diversity, ethics, and corporate transparency.
Through our hard work and dedication, we have achieved a score of 84.5 in the verified B Corp Assessment.
To maintain our B Corp status, we will undergo a re-verification process every three years and continue to report on our impact every year, ensuring that we consistently review our progress, pursue continuous improvement, and maintain long-term resilience.
Certified B Corporations are not simply certificate holders, they are leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy and we are proud to be part of it.
WHY IS B CORP IMPORTANT TO US?
More than twenty years ago, we launched our first upcycled ingredient, derived from a side stream of the food industry, paving the way as a pioneer in applying circular economy principles to the beauty business. Today, the B Corp certification comes as a powerful endorsement of our sustainability journey to becoming a leading company in circular beauty and driving positive change in the beauty industry.
Becoming a B Corp has been achieved through a long-term and company-wide sustainability approach, guided by three core pillars:

- Engaging in Climate action: We strive to reduce our GHG emissions across our value chain while continuing to grow the business and support wetland restoration to minimize our environmental footprint.
- Promoting social responsibility: We ensure health and safety for everyone in the workplace, practise responsible sourcing and due diligence in the supply chain, and maintains a diverse, equal, and inclusive product portfolio and marketing communication.

The B Corp community is made up of 9,000+ businesses operating in 96 countries across the globe, representing 162 industries. With Lumene Group becoming the first B Corp Certified Beauty company in Finland, we are now leading the way, joining only six other Certified B Corporations in the country.
As proud new members of the B Corp community, we have also joined The B Corp Beauty Coalition to drive transformation in our industry to redefine business success and build an inclusive, sustainable economy.
