LUMENE to open its first concept store at Helsinki Airport
LUMENE believes in the revival of international travel. The brand’s own concept store will open its doors in the airport’s non-Schengen area in late summer 2023.
“The airport is our window to the world, and we continue to strengthen the brand awareness internationally. Our vision is to be the number one beauty brand from the Nordics, widely recognised for the sustainable and wild-crafted Arctic ingredients,” says Tiina Bensky, VP, responsible for Finnish operations and Travel Retail.
LUMENE beauty products are already sold in 15 different airports and 23 cruise ships in a total of seven countries. The recovery from the corona pandemic has been faster than expected, in 2022 the turnover of Travel Retail operations increased by 116 percent.
Just some years ago, up to 60 percent of LUMENE customers at the airport were Asian. Chinese travellers are expected to gradually return to Finland after travel restrictions have been lifted at the end of 2022. China is currently the fastest growing markets for LUMENE.
Opening an own store stem from the close collaboration with Dufry that operates the airport’s Duty Free and Duty Paid stores.
“LUMENE is an extremely important Nordic partner for us. Their quality products are highly valued by our international customers. We are happy to take our partnership to another level with the amazing LUMENE concept store opening at Helsinki Airport”, says Sini Syväjärvi, CEO of Dufry Finland’s subsidiary WDFG Helsinki Oy.
