LUMENE GROUP TO MODERNIZE ITS ESPOO PRODUCTION FACILITY WITH A €10 MILLION INVESTMENT
Lumene Group, one of the leading beauty companies in the Nordics, has begun significant investments to enhance the efficiency of its production facility located in Espoo, Finland. Over the next two years, the company will renew all main production lines, increase automation, and expand and diversify its production capacity. The total value of the investment is approximately €10 million, and it supports the company’s strategic goal of doubling its revenue by 2028. Installation of the new equipment began in early 2025, and the fully modernized production facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
The investments encompass a comprehensive overhaul, making Lumene Group’s production facility in Kauklahti, Espoo, one of the newest and most modern beauty product manufacturing plants in the Nordics. The facility, built in 2001, will be completely automated and scalable, increasing production capacity at least threefold. All main production lines will be renewed, ensuring significant improvements in both production and energy efficiency. Installation of the new equipment began in early 2025, and the renovation project will be fully completed by 2026, with 80 percent of the equipment being renewed.
“Most of our products have always been made in our own production facility in Finland, and we want to continue investing in domestic growth. With these investments, we are enhancing the competitiveness of domestic production. We are renewing equipment that has reached the end of its life cycle, improving production efficiency, and strengthening product investments through production process development and digitizing our entire procurement process,” says Anna Huhtala, Supply Chain Director at Lumene Group.
Investments accelerate international growth
The investments stem from Lumene Group’s strategic goal, set in 2023, to double its revenue over the next five years and strengthen its position in international markets. The goal is to make the company Finland’s next big export success.
“These investments are a significant step for the future of Lumene Group. They enhance our production, improve our competitiveness, and enable the development of new innovations and products. The revamped production facility will also open new opportunities in contract manufacturing, supporting our strategic goal to expand our business and strengthen our position in international markets. We are committed to domestic growth and believe these investments are key to our journey towards future success,” says Adrian Innergård, CEO of Lumene Group.
Over 80% of products produced in Espoo
The production facility, located alongside the company’s headquarters, manufactures over 80 percent of the products for Lumene Group’s brands: LUMENE, IDA WARG Beauty, CUTRIN, and Promise. The Espoo production employs about one hundred people. The renovations will significantly improve working conditions for production employees. The production facility, established in 2001, remains the company’s sole manufacturing site.
